Aaron Jordan Talks Illini Visit

Plainfield East 2015 shooting guard Aaron Jordan has been one of the more proactive prospects in his class with his recruitment.  He has taken many visits including multiple trips to some programs before his junior season.

One of the schools he has visited several times before is Illinois.  This weekend Jordan and his family spent Saturday at Soldier Field watching the Illinois football game and Sunday on campus in Champaign.

"Soldier Field was a great time.  The college atmosphere was awesome.  Today I really enjoyed myself with my family and with Coach Groce.  The coaching staff are excellent coaches and great people!"

What is he looking for when heading back to schools for the second or third time like he has with Illinois, Illinois State, and Wisconsin?

"Now what I'm looking for is if I can see myself playing there and how does this college really feel to me deep down inside.  Those are some important things to me at this point."

He discussed a few specific aspects that impressed him about the Illini.

"A couple things that stand out to me is the staff.  They have a really tight relationship and treat each other like family.  I also love the fact of how much they focus on player development and how coach keeps his composer and uses his words as motivation!!"

There had been some speculation that he might be moving his timeline up to make a potential decision.  Jordan says that is not the case at all.

"There are no changes in my decision making."

Jordan ranks as one of the top shooting guards in Illinois and among the best regardless of position in the state's 2015 class.

He has a refined perimeter game that includes his improved handles.  Where he really excels is perimeter shooting.  He is a plus three point shooter and also knocks down one dribble pull ups on a regular basis.  Jordan does a good job moving without the ball to get open and creating separation from his defender to get his shot off.

The junior ran on the circuit with the Illinois Stars 16U during July where he was extremely impressive.
